This charming converted farmhouse is called Bizzilla for the famous Gozo lace. It is situated two minutes walk from the village square of Xaghra with all its amenities (grocer, butcher, petrol station, banks, restaurants and cafes). Yet it is just far enough away to enjoy peace and tranquillity.

Entering from the street into a little courtyard garden one then steps into a bright spacious hall that leads on to the large fully equipped kitchen/ dining room overlooking the pool and deck area at the back.

The cosy living room, also overlooks the back which is totally private and has open views to the citadel and beyond. This is the oldest part of the house dating to the 14th century with its manger, thick and rugged walls and arched ceiling. A stove completes the cosy atmosphere.

A downstairs toilet room and a box room containing washing machine, ironing board and clothes horse lie under the stairs in the hall that leads to the upper floor.

The main bedroom is very large with its own en-suite shower room and sizeable balcony overlooking the courtyard and street. A separate bathroom serves the second bedroom that is equally large but holding two single beds instead of the queen sized bed. This overlooks the pool area as does the third room which is furnished as an upstairs living room/ bedroom with a sofa bed that can accommodate two other persons. The view of the floodlit citadel and pool below are particularly appealing.

A wrought-iron and wooden floorboard staircase takes you up to the room above which accesses the roof. Some fine panoramic views are also to be had from here. Furnished tastefully throughout with solid furniture and even some antiques, this lovely farmhouse offers a cosy feel in spite of the large rooms full of natural lighting. All apertures are in solid wood with lace and damask curtaining providing a luxurious feel.

Swimming Pool

The village of Xaghra is magnificently located on a ridge between Marsalforn Bay and Ramla l-Hamra Bay, consistently acclaimed as the most beautiful sandy beach in the Maltese islands. Xaghra is home to the World Heritage site of the magnificent Ggantija temples that predate the pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge in Britain by some 2000 years.

On a more modern note one can visit the fully restored 17th century windmill, caves with stalactites and stalagmites and the Museum of Toys in Xaghra. The two major feasts of the village are celebrated with a procession. These start from the parish square and pass right down the street where Bizzilla is located.
